Coaching can help

How Does Coaching Help?

I ask the tough questions to help you make big life or career decisions. â€‹

As a Professional Coach, I work with clients using a solutions-focused coaching approach, which emphasizes strengths, generates a sense of personal competence, and leads to practical results.

Coaching differs from other forms of therapeutic work in that it is action-oriented and solutions-focused. We collaborate to move you forward to a desired decision or goal. We don't dwell in the past but look to the future to achieve goals.

My clients include working professionals, leaders, and people navigating the parenting journey

I coach leaders and working professionals to develop their unique strengths and build the confidence they need to progress in their careers and lives.  With a focus on career change, professional identity, navigating a job search, and supporting leaders with challenges or to develop their skills and rise to the next level.

I also work with clients on topics related to parenting: deciding to become a parent, those undergoing fertility challenges, pregnancy and early parenthood. Not to mention how that all ties into working life, identity and career. I support those in transitions into maternity leave, back to work and deciding what's next in your career with your new parent identity.

I coach the whole person, not simply the problem. Meaning in our work together we look at internal and external circumstances of you as a whole person, which may be creating barriers. We work together to dismantle those barriers and move you to your desired state.

About me.

I support professionals of all ages and disciplines with career, leadership development and parental coaching. I've designed online and in-person coaching programs and have experience with self-assessment tools, job search strategies, leadership and skill development, and other professional growth topics. Namely, people wanting a change in their careers or lives.

I've worked with professionals with backgrounds in finance, technology, data science, engineering, product management, marketing, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, education, consulting, CPG and law amongst others. Working across these industries has given me good insight into what it takes to succeed in different workplace environments both from a career and leadership perspective. And what these industries tend to look for in aspiring candidates.

My coaching journey began with my experience as a leader in digital marketing. I then shifted into coach-specific roles at the University of Toronto and the Rotman School of Management as a Career Coach for several years supporting students from undergraduate to masters to PhDs in their career and leadership endeavours. I created customized programming, facilitated workshops and led group and one-to-one coaching in these roles which allowed my students to reach their goals.

Prior to becoming a Professional Coach, I spent over 10 years in leadership roles at digital marketing agencies focused on technology, consumer packaged goods and healthcare clients. I also worked as a recruiter at a prominent Toronto tech start-up.  This background and my professional coaching experience at the Rotman School of Management influenced my coaching style and provided me with good insight into the industry and individual needs.

I have obtained much of my coaching training from the Adler Graduate Professional School, and am a Professional Certified Coach (PCC), a designation granted by the International Coach Federation. I have obtained a Post-Graduate Certificate from Conestoga College for Career Development Practitioner (CDP). I hold a Bachelor of Management and Organizational Studies (BMOS) with a Specialist in Human Resources and Organizational Behaviour from Western University.

On a personal level, my husband and I also went through a fairly trying journey to conceive our first baby. I understand the emotional toll of fertility and parenting and how these experiences can impact both your identity and your career. And how to adjust as a working professional in light of those changes.
